My
Story: My Heritage

Get to Know Me

Daughter of WWII Vet

I am the daughter of a World War II Army Paratrooper and Silver Star recipient and grew up in a small town in Iowa. My dad is from a farm in Minnesota and my mom is from a farm in South Dakota. My mom and dad moved to Iowa to work for John Deere and my mom volunteered as library board president and in the community theater. My parents were politically active, so I grew up volunteering on Congressional campaigns. Our family was also very active in the Lutheran church. My core values include integrity, honesty, dependability, empathy, and compassion.

Raised Fiscally Conservative

I know how important fiscal conservatism and hard work are as my great-grandparents came from Germany in the 1800s and lived on a small farm in Minnesota. My grandpa had polio which required my grandma and grandpa to work multiple jobs to make a living. My dad, born in 1925, grew up in poverty during the depression and instilled fiscal conservatism in me my whole life.

20 years in Florida; Iowa Native

I have lived in Florida for the past 20 years, with four years in Satellite Beach. After my daughter Nourah, now 22 years old, graduated high school four years ago to attend NYU, I moved from Orlando to my forever home in Satellite Beach. I love everything BEACH and SATELLITE BEACH!!!

Citizens Own the Joint

I look forward to providing fresh ideas and new perspectives to the Satellite Beach City Council. I will always listen to your concerns and address them. "Citizens own the joint." We need a different path forward with transparency that will help us all age in place in our coastal beauty. All questions and comments are welcome!
